ROKHA'TU 4284!

14.6.2015

Iblort bless you, Coraabians!

ROKHA'TU 4284!

All the best in the new Year of Excavation!

The patron of this Coraabian year is WAT-PAGAN (guru Unliving).

There is a specific line in the Watan min-log: „the timeless being rose from the sacred depths and those dwelling there became hers“. That was how Raabdwa's contemporaries described the birth of the legendary empire Kao-Paga led by Wat-Pagan, the first among the First.

The new precious Collector is awarded for free if you buy at least 800 Xot during this Coraabian year (Tu) – from June 15 to August 9.

Many Coraabians have recently set on a difficult expedition to the radioactive Lake Wat-Pagae. Because of their revolutionary finding, a new yearly grind is now playable for the entire Tu.

ARCHEOLOG!

The recent war among the Sols was joined by hundreds of Sols from the whole multiverse. The results of this thrilling event will be published on Wednesday June 17.

NEWS

  • In the previous Tu, we have successfully launched Coraabia on the game platform Kongregate and more than 25,000 Coraabians have registered there as of now. Coraabia is now also playable in full German localization on the game portal gamigo. We've became the Czech Game of the Year in the category Best Debut.
  • The current year 4284 Tu will see Coraabia being released on the game platform Armor Games (the estimated time is the beginning of August).
  • Iblort now offers many multiverse (working without being in the deck) connections that were previously only available on Coraab. Other revamped multiverse connections are available for completing the economic grind XOTTER!
  • This Tu will also bring many interesting events and new Collector cards. The end of 4284 Tu will be in the sign of the famous Coraabiad (like every Gul (6 Tu)).

ERRATA

Errata 4284 Tu has recalibrated some deck archetypes to return Coraabia back to its core gameplay – winning Points thanks to higher parameters (e.g. the new ULTIMO). This means nerfs to Domination tricks as a way to circumvent this paradigm (ANNEXATION! gives –1 Score, ULTIMATUM! even –2). We also spread this classic Guardian ability to other factions to allow easier counterplay, although with restrictive conditions (RABIES! for Outlaws, TRANSMUTATION! for Xennos). Kops being able to gain 2 Score per duel while winning thanks to Domination was too much for aggro decks to handle so we capped MARRU II at +1 Score and changed MARRU I to a more fight-oriented Kop: +1 Point.

The other punishing archetype for aggressive gameplay is the Unliving ability to lower opponent's points. While the ability itself is healthy and flavorful, its combination with the connection BONEHALL was too uninteractive. Playing 15 rares and gurus with no tricks or champions and simply clicking pass every duel went against our design philosophy. BONEHALL was changed to make Zombs more focused on winning duels. Their points-lowering abilities now make duel losses less painful but not the cornerstone of their strategy.

Many of our previous errata focused on making sure summon/self-mill combo decks would not be too strong though still present in the metagame. While they were not as dominant as of late, some of the tools they used were better than they should have been. That is why we also nerfed some non-combat tricks like the cycle of five summon uncommons from the Basic set as well as JURY!, INFANTRY!, or ACTIVATION!

Character errata were targeted at the most overpowered higher rarity cards. TROKAFIXX and ZIL had way too many points while packing the usual set of Guardian control abilities, while CORAABIANA could literally wipe out all opponent's tricks while still lowering their points a lot. The recently murdered LIN REZZT had one of the best Score manipulation in the game. Coupled with the versatile payment, he fitted in more decks than a brutal criminal mastermind should, which is why we decided to restrict him mostly to Outlaw-heavy decks.
